I have to tell you folks that I was on vacation and haven't sat down at my kit for a week! I can hardly wait to get back on them. What's a metrognome again- a short guy who lives in the city? (oops, bad joke).
Yap, we're gonna have some fun in this joint I tell ya. Just to make sure I keep on my toes, I'm gonna TYPE ALLA MY POSTS WITH DRUM STICKS INSTEAD OF MY FINGERS! Boom! Howdya like that?!!

Hey Rod,
I am playing Ayottes, an older kit that I picked up last year. It is a rock kit, full-sized kick drum, and three toms on a cage. The toms are 10', 12', and 14', which is a little smaller than other people use for rock. The snare is an Ayotte deep-dish. The kit is in imacculate condition, and has a wicked purple finish. I took one of the toms by Ayotte when I needed a special piece of hardware, and the tech there said I had a good kit (on the basis of the tom). Everyone loves it, and most importantly I love it!

Rod with a system in place like those lugs ( great site) you won't have to worry about them making unwanted noise :roll:

Which song are you referring to?
"Deep Sea Diver" is played with sticks and is a truncated bembe in waltz time with a second bar variation of an added kick on the 3-let (1-trip-let 2-trip-let 3-trip-let). This was my weakest track, with some slight time fluctuation and a punch-in was required. We also did one edit to create a stop in the song, but that was a creative choice. We have decided this version is too long and have come up with a shortened arrangement and plan on rerecording it.
"In Control" is my favourite of the drum takes. We had three takes that were mistake free, but as soon as the cymbals faded after the last note I ran into the control room and said "That was it! Let's move on." I play with brushes in stick style (not stirring the pot, but smacking the skins), caressing the cymbals and lightly stepping the hat on the backbeat until the second chorus where I kick in the full beat. We ended up using that fourth take in it's entirety, no punches or edits (take THAT pro tools!).
"Bear and the Fish" is a guitar epic. I play with brushes again, a Steve Gadd-ish 4/4 thing. It is easily the most complex of the songs, and I am proud to say we ended up going with the unpunched/unedited first take. The fade out at the end was a natural fade, where we just dropped the volume on our playing. A DAW fade was thrown on top of this.

Hi Doc! I'm playing a six piece premier kit. 8, 10, 14, 16, 22, with a yamaha steel snare. The kit's about 25 years old and sounds great! I have sabian cymbals, except for my china. It's a zildjian.
Kits sound good live and phoenominal in the studio. IMO.

I will send some pics from our rehearsal hall soon.

David, does listening to your samples require filling out the form. I'm nervous about this site because I get swamped with popup's, and sometimes I loose control over my PC, going to sertain sites. It feels like an attack sometimes.
Anyway since english is'nt my native language I must get directions.
