I can't give you any specific suggestions on routing V-Drums as such, but I will tell you a little of my experiences with them recently.

The drummer in my son's band borrowed the "top of the line" V-Drum rig from the shop where he works to do some recording here. He configured the brain-box for 4 "outs".........Kick, snare, and two O/heads (stereo) which included toms and artifacts from the kick and snare.

Now live through the PA these things sounded fine, (he had selected a "stage" kit in the brain-box), but as far as recording goes they leave a lot to be desired..........particularly the cymbals........they are honestly woeful.

If you were using them for a more "electronic" sound, they would probably be fine, but as a direct replacement for a real kit in a recording situation, they just don't cut it.

We will use the V-Drums as an (expensive) MIDI controller to trigger some really nice samples in GigaStudio and NI Battery. My drummer friend just got his kit so there is still some exploring to be done but I am convinced it is going to work well.

The sounds inside the unit are IMO generally good enough for practice and gigs.

Well, they are trying to sound like a real kit...so what does that tell ya? Nothin' like the real thing, baby ;)

We've been having trouble isolating the outs into a Delta 44...ambience on or not. Dunno if it's the card or the brain thats bleeding...(Ow, I think MY brain is bleeding) Too much hemisphere hopping.
