mastering for idiots?

rather than search all the posts here to find about an intuitive website or book about mastering...I thought I would just ask for recommendations?

I am just starting to look in to mastering...what is the best literature to assist me in the process?

I believe that Mr. Bob Katz book would be a great asset. You can order one directly at: (Dead Link Removed) .

Why take the time to read a book just do like everyone else does get a Finalizer, strap it across your final two track mix select a preset that sound similar to what you are doing and "master it" Its all the DIY rage.

Just kidding!

Lots of good information on Bob Katz's site as well and here http://www.espace-cubase.org/anglais/page.php?page=appaudiozg1 and here http://www.tcelectronic.com/TechLibrary#LoudnessControlandMastering

and of course on this fourm.

Also recommended is both Bob's books on Mastering.
