The tracks were recorded on a stupid usb snowball mic so keep that in mind lol. But how is the mix? Any tips to improve it? Thanks!

In a day where vocals are and should be more upfront (louder),
I would personally bring them up in the verse's and kill the echo/ doubling you have going on for an effect too. Including the background vocal that is not in time with the lead. The ending echo is really distracting.

Hope that helps.

I thought to listen to another track. [MEDIA=soundcloud]kerfoot32/hp
For this song, its got a fun thing going on, great potential! You will improve you mix by rolling off the low freq on the reverb. To add more warmth. get it from the bass or kick instead of reverb going down all the way.

Hope that helps.

Cheers!

Hi,

The reverb is in the VSTi effects. A lot of times effects are not set-up 100% to be right once you add additional instruments and vocals to your mix, they need to be adjusted. The verb may appeal to you now but it will consume freq where the bass and kick would sit should you add more tracks to that. So if you end up adding other sounds in that song, your final mix at the mastering stage will not get as loud pre-say, this energy would be better spent elsewhere.
It will also cause a lot of mud in your mix so just be aware of that. I usually roll off (HPF) the low freq in reverb including LPF too.

If you clean up those tracks I may be able to hear deeper into your mix to help you. So far, those are the most pressing issues I would deal with.

to respond to your PM, I put a comment on you track where I felt the verb was too big and will cause problems should you not roll off those low freq a bit. Especially if you plan on adding a cool bass line in this song or another with the same vsti sound. Make sense? The Kick has way too much delay (release) and bottom end on it for my taste.

To respond to your PM regarding how to adjust the reverb settings on the VSTi: I don't know what DAW program you are using or what editing abilities you have there but "usually" there are effect settings somewhere that allow you to mix and eq the amount of reverb on an effect or track.

hope this helps :)
