Anyone want to work through this book on mixing with me?
I'm not sure where to post this so I'll post it here. I'm a film/game composer looking to improve my mixing skills; I do mostly sample-based composition. I got this book("Mixing Audio" by Roey Izhaki):
The best thing would be to take a course based on this book. But the next best thing would be simply to go through it with another person or several people -- perhaps just share thoughts and maybe our own examples as well. I think this could be done through this forum.
Yes. I will. I have it. I'm gonna get started on looking through it, tonight.
Great! Feel free to P.M. me whenever you want to start...
Please let me know whether you're still interested in going through this book... (I sent you a P.M...). Thanks! :)
Does the book seem worthwhile? I have an amazon gift card that may be worth spending on this... If so, IM DOWN.
what the heck... it says it will ship in 2-5 weeks.. thats some serious weak sauce..
Yes, the book DEFINITELY seems worthwhile. It comes with a DVD with lots of audio samples. I think you can still use your Amazon card to buy it new from one of the alternate sellers on the Amazon site. Click where it says "xx new from ...$xx..."

That's what I ended up doing, should be here in about a week and a half.
Great! Let me know when you're ready to start (by posting here or PM me). Thanks!
I received the book and am ready to go -- should I pm you my AIM/Email or how do you want to do that? Already flipped through it a bit and it does seem quite good -- not just a list of tricks that only work in some situations. Instead it seems to really get into the WHY and WHEN which can be the toughest part of mixing (mixing well that is).
Sure, go ahead and PM me your email... Thanks.
