Hi there!
This song is a social protest song about the excessive use of profanity in our culture and the degradation of the English langauge. I assure you there are no actual cuss words in the recording, just lots of bleeps.

That being said, this is definitely NOT safe for work! And probably children either.

Please critique my mix. I'm going for a modern sound, with a lot of loudness, and a "punk rock" style to it.

Thanks so much, and great to be back here again!

You have some agressive high-mids there that are not pleasant. Also, there seems to have a timming gap at the end of the drum fills were you using sample loops ?

I'll check on that timing gap. That was on purpose to provide "feel", but may be more "felt up" than it should be. ;)

As for the high-mids, that's one thing that concerned me. I wondered about it because it sounds great in here when I push the volume; meaning; I wonder if my speakers are accurate enough for me to get this close to the edge. Now I know.

Thanks PC!

I don't mind a gap it it stays on time... You know when taping your feet to the beat and certainly something is off... ;)

If you are monitoring at high levels, your ears will get tired quick and won't hear those frequencies well.
I get comfortable to mix at around 50db but I bump it up and down periodically to get better perspectives.
Of course your mix may have nothing wrong to go to the mastering phase (on which the ME will rectify any freq bumps)
