Well, as Jammster suggested , this will depend on whether you are using a microphone or a pick-up on the violin.
First off, if you are using a pick-up ("electric violin") and plugging it directly into the PA mixer, you may be having problems with the pick-up and mixer not being totally compatible. Just because the violin can plug into a jack on the mixer does not guarantee that this will work properly.
You may need a small box called a "preamp" to improve the the signal between the pick-up and the mixer. You need to tell us what input connection you are using on the mixer to help advise you on this.

If you are using a microphone for the violin, you may be able to correct the problem by pointing the mic towards the lower-pitched strings. Then go to the input channel that the violin's mic is plugged into. Look at the section that has the "High" and "Low" controls, and hopefully a "Mid" control. These are called the "equalizer" section, which is essentially a tone controller. How are these set? The "High" control varies your treble response, try backing that down. How is the "Mid" control set? Please do not turn up the "Low" control (bass). This can make the microphone "howl" (low-pitched feedback) and is really out of the range of the lower strings on a violin.
In any case, let us know more details of your kit.

i came back

hello.
I use barcusberry 1320 pick up.
our mixer is behringe XENYX 1832FX.
I connect the violin directly to on of the mixer input (usualy the most left).
I noticed that when the "gain" button (the most higher and the black button) is the most low - the most left - the vioin sound is good but the volume is low.
And when i increase the "gain" the volume is good but now the sound is very bad! it's very metalic and squeak.
moonbaby write me something about preamp. if you can explain me exactly what is and ehich one can suitable to violin.
I'm very sory on the ignorance but if someon can help me - it's be great!!!
