Hi there guys,

I'm interesting in purchasing either the Avid HD I/O 16x16 Analogue or Avid HD I/O 16x16 Digital. From researching both I can fully understand what you use the digital version for but not the analog. My understanding of the digital version, is like most converters it converts a to d so you can edit everything digitally on a computer, as opposed to recording and editing using tape and analog outboard hardware. But I can't work out what the use for the analog version is, can anyone explain it to me? I imagine I'ts really obvious. I cant understand what its doing, assuming it takes an analog signal the same way the digital version does, but then also outputs the signals in analog too? So what is its use?
