Sonicflavours R66 Reverb - check it out and see what you think. The demo clips sound good to me and demo software does too, except for the occassional loud [earsplitting!] beeps.

40% off of $140 if 120 people go for it - still kind of expensive but it's a pretty good verb.

Good reviews as well.

Please post any opinions.

let me guess.... you're on a home-built PC??

No, I'm sitting on a chair right now!

Actually, I do enjoy DIY such as building my own DAWs, pre amps, compressors, and such. It's not a bad thing to do.

I also cook, bake sourdough bread, make beer [not in a bathtub!], and roast my own coffee beans. Pretty wierd, huh?

Anyone else tried this reverb?

I was (am) pretty luke warm on the terms of the group buy - especially seeing that there are only 12 on the list at the point. Today I was working on a quick little mix and futzing around with different 'verbs and not finding the right sound. I loaded up the R66 demo and that was it. I was done.

I'm in on the group buy now. A discount's a discount no matter how small.

Female vocal duo with acoustic guitar.
I used the small hall preset.
On my system, the list of presets is doubled for some reason - and, while the names are duplicated, the two sets of presets do not yield the same sounds. This was the second small hall preset.

The song is has a very one-on-one message to it, and I just wanted to give the mix some depth and space with a very light 'verb.

Zemlin, I saw your post over at Samplitude as well.

I too, feel that this reverb could be a serious and useful tool to many. We all have probably purchased licenses for a number of plug-ins that no longer see any use and were money foolishly spent. The R66 will not be one of those.

Bomb Factory would be splendid if we didn't have to change platforms!

Welp, I finally got around to trying this thing out. It sounds very good. I tried it on some vox and on some drums. Some of the presets were pretty goofy and useless, but there are always those. I came to the decision that I just don't need it. With my combination of Powercore verbs and choruses and SIR, I feel that this plug has nothing new or better to offer me. But if all you have are just stock reverb plugs, this is a definite step up. And that is my humble opinion and review.

BTW: I think the count is up around 50.

I agree that if you have UAD, Powercore, etc, the R66 might not offer enough differences to make it worth the purchase. If you have what works for you then excessive plug-in clutter is definately a good thing to avoid.

I keep Sonar 3 Producer [w Lexicon] and Samplitude 8 Pro [Room Simulator] on my computer though I use mostly Samp. For me, the R66 is a nice addition.

Count is up to 77 now and group buy ends today at 24:00 CET. I'm not sure exactly when that is in relation to local time, but it couldn't be long now.

More people have joined in the last 24 hrs than in the first 2 weeks!

Better hurry if you're interested... :P ... a little under 1 1/2 hrs from this edit time.
