Hello,

I'm looking into purchasing a used Sebatron vmp-2000e. its serial number is 0116. Would this put the manufacturing of the unit prior to, or after the early 2004 modification?

How significant is the modification. It seems to be in very good shape and the price for this unit is around 300$ less then the current going price. Do you think this unit is worth it or would it be better to go with a new one?

I am primerally interested in using it as a preamp for hardware synths and sound modules (motif, Roland-fantom X, Korg micro x etc)

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Fabe

If the unit has a round black mains switch ( as opposed to metal toggle ) ,, chances are that you have the later version.

For the application you've described I think the unit should be fine as the demands for gain are much less.
