Which one? I have a 002R and I'm replacing my Mackie 1604 vlz pro with one of these units. I think i have to buy a add-on card for the octopre to get it to my 002 whick brings them to about the same price. Correct me if I'm wrong, please. For drums mostly. Or is that not really a good upgrade from the XDR pres on the mixer? Thanks for the input. :?

i would suggest buying a few less, but higher quality, pres and use them in conjunction with your mixer. then add more quality pres as your budget allows. you could get two bricks ($350-400 ea) and an alesis adat converter ($400) and have room to expand eventually.
