Which one in you guys' opinion is better for a beginner, and gives overall better sound quality.. I'm a beginner, and i've just gotten both programs, yet I haven't experimented yet, so which one program would you say is better and why? I'd appreiciate it.

It depends of what you are trying to achieve...

Acid is more a loop based audio software, while cool edit is an audio multitrack. Acid is ram based, cool edit is hardisk based...Ram is faster but more expensive.

Naw^, it starts with an M..

And MaxMex, I get what you're saying. I'm basically a newbie, so i want the easiest one.. I really just need it to play instramentals and record, and maybe later on i'll practice making beats. and I wanna know which on sounds better after you're finished, i haven't even made a file yet, so i don't know.. I'm really just using it now to lay down freestyles and battles, and maybe short little songs, but nothing serious or professional yet..

Acid it's really friendly, you just drop some loops over it and you are already making music, you can draw the music, if you are into hip hop or dance music, Acid is the one you are looking.

If you need to record instruments I think it's better to use cool edit. I've never used it myself but a lot of people like it, you can record, edit and process with cool edit.

Acid will allow you to secuence audio, and it will help you chaging the tempo with just a few clicks, in real time, you can use plug ins per track and it even would manage vst instruments. Why don't you download some trials and do some tests ?
