Hey everyone its been awhile since I've been on here..

This is my questions/concerns

I have a Creative sound blaster audigy 2 zs platnium pro and have been tinkering with that for a while now.

I now just bought an Alesis 16 firewire mixer:

(Dead Link Removed)

And my friend just bought a 7 piece drum mic set.

is it as easy as plugging those mics into the mixer, mixer into the computer, and run Sonar to record? I Just want to make sure I'm on the right path.

And if people have used Sonar Producer 3, does Sonar recognize a mixer so you can use it for adjusting levels instead of on the program itself?

Do I need a Direct Box?

Thanks

You should be able to record by running the mics into the mixer and using the firewire output on the mixer into the firewire input of the computer. I'm not familiar with Sonar, but you could use Cubase LE which comes with the mixer. I don't see why you would need a direct box, unless you want to convert a line input into an XLR out. Lemme know how it turns out i want to buy a Multimix firewire 8 for myself :D
