Antelope Audio is the next big bang in pro audio. thumb

I started following Antelope Audio a few years back and recently tested out, then bought the new Orion 32 for my hybrid summing system. From what I'm personally hearing, I just saw this article posted by hummingbirdmedia.

Denver, October 3, 2013 — Leading digital audio manufacturer Antelope Audio (exhibit room 477) will set the tone at this year's Rocky Mountain Audio Fest by demonstrating its new [="http://www.antelopeaudio.com/en/products/Zodiac-Platinum-DSD-DAC-DA-Converter"]Zodiac Platinum DSD DAC[/]="http://www.antelope…"]Zodiac Platinum DSD DAC[/] and its CES 2013 Innovations Award Winning, [[url=http://="http://www.antelope…"]Rubicon Atomic AD/DA[/]="http://www.antelope…"]Rubicon Atomic AD/DA[/], the first audiophile preamp with an integrated atomic clock.

This would be a very interesting exhibit, I wish I was in Denver. If you have the opportunity, post a bit on that for us!

To add more ingredient to the thread,

Avoiding latency that occurs from processing (groups of frequencies delayed as compared to other groups.) is the secret weapon to HD. Actually, sanity.

I am so confident in my current process, its becoming a joke reading how mass is using one DAW for everything, thinking its the ultimate system, so clean and so unscathed yet the ongoing search for preamps and plug-ins continues.. Buying into all this plug-in and DPS processing including mixing AD DA AD DA D especially track per track (round trip) is nonsense.

So, no matter how great the capture system is, until we get DAW latency and whats causing it all sorted out, its good after bad. Mass is plagued with phase and shifting.

Good thing though, I have a feeling we are entering a new level of consumer playback systems which is going to separate the crowd unable to avoid these phase problems. Thus, the cream will rise and we will hear better sounding music again! Hopefully the musicians are back and able to aford it all too.

I'm more stoked over how I avoid the latency. Keeping phase in check and capturing music on a capture system is without a doubt, in the right direction to HD sound. I think Antelope is cutting edge. I hope someone reports something more about this.

Recording Studios that figure out they are part of the problem will be cutting edge material and make music worth investing in again. But will any of us even get paid for the investment?
Only when the public starts hearing and raving about how good something sounds, and is willing to pay for it too, will this level grow. DAW studio's will then start to follow the ME and hybrid summing crowd that gets it. The followers will then be more open and forced to upgrade to the next step. Sheep will follow.
If both pro and consumer were on the same sonic page, the music business would be a fun place to be again. I look forward to that day.The public is out of phase lol.

Better sound is coming, but the process on how we track and mix needs to improve too.
