Audiophile 2496 Problem.

I have the 2496 installed in my comp and it was working fine...yesterday I had a new hard drive installed in my comp and now windows xp will not recognize the soundcard as installed. is there anything I can do before I uninstall the card and re-install it?

ps-the card does not show up in my device manager. any help would be appreciated. .thanks in advance

Try a different PCI slot. You may have an IRQ conflict somewhere. Some MoBo's will allow you to change the IRQ assignments for each PCI slot in the BIOS, but that can be a bit "hit and miss"...

A soundcard reinstall is quick and easy. I would uninstall Delta drivers as well as the card and then put card back. See if computer recognizes new hardware and go from there.

I work on computers alot... It is not a driver issue. If it was it would show up in Device manager with red or yellow mark next to the Device.

Randyman is right on the money. Try a diffrent PCI slot. The one it is plugged into is conflicting with the Systems Resources.
