Hey everybody!

I bought the Waves Autotune plugin and come to find out, it isn't compatible with my recording software. I know there is a program called Audacity that is free and was wondering if any of y'all know if I can use the autotune with that. If not, do you know of any other FREE software that I could use this autotune with? I'm not looking to buy a new software because mine works fine. Just something I can use to tune my vocals with.

Thank you all so much and God Bless!

Some software requires that you "refresh" your direct X & VST plug-ins. This may have been an operational step you may have missed? And you are also learning how to become a system integrator which isn't as easy as advertising/marketing hype might suggest. I mean there is even certain active balanced output circuitry that does not allow one to unbalance the outputs into an unbalanced input, in a typical & generally acceptable way known for years. Whereas most other circuitry allows "ring"/XLR pin 3, to be tied to ground/shield. So if those type devices with that kind of lousy design engineering are used to replace a previous piece that worked just fine before, they may be in for very disappointing results and/or equipment damage. So understanding everything you can about manufactures equipment design philosophy can be very important if not crucial. Software is no different except that instead of making a correct patch cord, they're dealing with many, many, many lines of coding. So why should they waste more time with coding when all you need is a special patch cord?

I'm just rather curious that you have paid good money for this pitch correction software without inquiring, reading or being informed of its compatibility? The old joke goes back to women who purchase cars based upon color whereas guys want to know about performance and screw the color. That didn't come out right? My mixes and my recording technique is certainly not neutral but the color of my car is. I could say I'm not sure what that makes me but I already know what I am but most others don't.

Confusing aren't I?

Cubase LE has limitations from the full version too but I'm not sure they are VST related. At any rate, you can import a track into Reaper and then apply the Waves Tune VST plugin and save. As long as you do not alter the time length of the track you should then be able to utilize that within Sonar Home Studio. I think however you are more likely to find you like the unfettered atmosphere of Reaper which is very very fast and an excellent multi track experience. The pdf or printed version of the help file is most excellent as well.
