Thanks for everyone who gave me advice on my newbie home recording equipment.

But why do my $50 computer speakers sound bassier & louder than my Samson Resolv65 + Hafler Pro2400 amp combo?
My studio monitors definitively sound crisp, clean & no matter how much I crank up the volume the sound sounds clean and does not disturb the ear. Actually I keep the amp cranked all the way & omni-studio USB all the way and the sound is great, but not loud or thumping bass.
Is there any software settings that I need to look at, I have heard of people calibrating their studio monitors, or is it normal and preffered to get that sound with my setup?
Thanks again in advance.

Does bassier and louder mean better?
Maybe you have too much bass coming from your computer speakers. If you really want thumping bass you're not going to get it from 6.5" speakers. You'll need to add a sub.
Did you listen to these speakers and hear your thumping bass when you bought them?
The sound of your speakers will also be impacted by the acoustics in your room. Your room needs to be properly treated to help balance the sound.
My cheap computer speakers come with a sub tht sits on the floor behind the desk.
but I could never crank up the volume loud because the sound would not be crisp & clear.
I will move the monitors to the appropriate area & listen to them again. I'll read some other threads that talk about monitor positioning & sound proofing.
