I'm thinking about buying the E-mu 1820M as I like the features although it is hard to get a review on these since they are quite new. I would appreciate any feedback from anyone who knows anything about them.

There seems to be a lot of buzz over these. A couple of people over on the Harmony Central discussion boards have just started using them and have no complaints. Two comments from others were that the E-Mus are using the Audigy chip set (E-Mu was evedently aquired by Creative) and that the while the converter chips are the same as Pro tools, there is more to good comverters than the chip (e.g. supporting circutry?)

These are just things I have read recently and are just someone's opinion.
