Focusrite Saffire Pro 26 i/o

It sounds to good to be true.

I am looking to get out of the mbox department and get an I/O that can be the hub of my DAW for years to come.

It would seem this guy has every thing I would need for a serious DAW. including 5.1 monitoring. Which is something I intend on getting back into in the next few years.

And before someone brings it up, I can not afford the $1800 for an RME.

Yeah, it's OK. Nothing to shout about. It lacks a bit in the headroom department, but with decent gain staging you should be there. Certainly better than an Mbox.

What DAW software? You can't run PT with a Saffire Pro as the interface.

I run Logic 7 Pro. Headroom is not a huge concern for me. so lo

Headroom is not a huge concern for me. so long as it is not terrible.

I don't plan on using the mic pre's all that often.
