[I have tried googling this issue for several days before deciding to post this here]
I have a Behringer Guitar Link UCG102 that I'd like to use to record a bass guitar, using my computer running Nuendo 3.2.0.
Trouble is that I'm a newbie to Nuendo and cannot figure out how to record my bass from my amp's DI.
After a little playing around, I've figured out how to record my bass plugged in directly into the Behringer guitar link (referred to as BGL from now), although the levels of this sounds really low (the volume on the BGL is maximim, the volume on the bass is about 90% too)
What's the best-practice way you would recommend recording my bass?

Bass Guitar (Ibanez EDB 605), plugged into >

Note: the Direct out on the amp is an XLR out, so I'm using an XLR to 1/4 cable to go from amp direct out into >

Inside Nuendo, I have configured the input so it looks like this:
As I mentioned, I don't get any signal at all when I plugin the XLR>1/4 cable into the guitar link.
When I plugin my bass directly, I get a signal which is quite low.
I'm not sure at all why this is happening, in theory it should be possible to record bass at a regular level using this setup, right?
I hope I'm doing something stupid for the setup to not work, or it could be the XLR to 1/4 cable that's the culprit? That still doesn't explain why the levels are so low when I record directly using my bass>Behringer guitar link.
I really hope someone can help me with this, and I'll be very grateful.

The volume level on the interface is kept at maximum when I record, I didn't try reducing it.
Let's talk about ideal conditions, am I supposed to get a good level without doing any tinkering on Nuendo? If you can see the wave on track2 in the second screenshot, that's the volume I'm getting..

Since your bass works when plugged directly into the UCG102, all that side of things must be OK in terms of connections. When you say the level is low, what happens when you change the "level" switch on the side of the interface unit?
I'm puzzled by your description of your Bass amp, as I thought the A25 was a Hartke unit. If it is a Hartke, the XLR output is a balanced line-level signal, and is not directly suitable for connecting to the unbalanced guitar input of the UCG102. I think in this case I would use a [[url=http://[/URL]="http://www.guitarce…"]double-input TS jack plug connector[/]="http://www.guitarce…"]double-input TS jack plug connector[/] and a second lead to split the signal from your bass, one split going to the UCG102 and the other to the standard guitar input of the amplifier. It's not the ideal solution, but it should work.
