Hi everyone,

I’ve never seriously considered sending my music to record companies until just recently..however, I have been recording my own demo for the past month or so, and minus a couple of tracks I am finished (although there are playing mistakes here and there). Overall I feel really good about it, and I think I’d like to send it out. I would really like to know what the process is like for getting signed…Basically..what do I need to do to go from recording at home to getting signed to a record deal?
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

Make sure your demo is recorded as perfectly as you can. Even a demo should be like a showcase of your music to a record company…give them the best first impression!
About the record deal…there is a lot more to getting one than simply submitting your music to different music companies. Music is a business after all. You need to approach companies by thinking about what’s in it for them if they sign you. Here is an article that sums my thoughts up perfectly on the matter of going after a record deal [[url=http://[/URL]="http://tomhess.net/…"]First Step To Getting a Record Deal[/]="http://tomhess.net/…"]First Step To Getting a Record Deal[/].
