Hi my name is Andre.
I am new to your list and very glad I found you!
I need to buy a new laptop to run Cubase SX and a bunch of Soft synths. I have never built a computer but I am very handy so i would not hesitate, but are there any good companies specializing in laptops for audio recording? I work as a musician on a cruise ship, that is why it must be a laptop. I found ADK pro audio on the internet but their prices seem a little high. I was also looking at a Gateway 7422GX at best buy that seems pretty good. I am new to pc world. I have been using Macs for the past 12 years but have decided to make the switch. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Andre

Keynux makes good computers. They are very friendly and they known what they build. I asked them 3 times before buying a laptop and 3 times they answer with all explainations, very clear.

I'm sure that if you ask them about audio, they will tell you the right answer, even if the answer is "we don't know" :-)

I see that the english website dont work but you can try here:

Very important for audio: you can have 7200rpm hard drive and you can have 2 HD in the laptop.

I have one with 2 HD, Samplitude and a RME Fireface800 and it works good :-)
