Sorry, I don't know much about the L251. I do own the L47MP. It's a hand built, continuous variable pattern, tube condenser. It has a 3-micron capsule, its' own power supply, and is built pretty solid.

It sounds WONDERFUL.

I'm not sure of the link, but they describe their mics in detail on their web site.

Hope this helps.

Why not give them a call. The coolest thing is the guy that answers the phone is the guy who's name is on the microphone. Gene's a great guy and is obviously pasionate about his products and company.

One VERY IMPORTANT thing about Lawson.

About a week after my wonderful microphone arrived, I received a small package in the mail. It was a tiny box of little 'southern tea cakes' if I remember correctly. Tasted like mini pecan pie type pastries...
...anyway, the important thing is that my WIFE keeps asking...

"Hey, are you gonna buy anymore stuff from that Lawson company?" :) :D

...I almost fell over.

P.S. I hope she likes the T-Shirt coming from Mercenary Audio as much. ;)
