The NSEQ-4 is stellar. The highs on it are especially to die for. Its twice the price because its the real deal and built like a tank. I've owned CharterOak stuff in the past and I wouldn't ever go that way again, terrible resale as well. But, I've never heard the PEQ1 so...

The NSEQ-4 is in a class of its own. If you can afford it, you will not regret. I have one and love it.

Do you intend to sell your Millennia NSEQ-4?

I could sell you mine and buy another if it was worth it for us both. What do they sell for in your location? Feel welcome to start a private conversation with me.

i have an ORIGIN which has the same EQ section used in the NSEQ and i can report it is a stellar EQ. just perusing the features of the Charter Oak piece you mention i can say it is NOT a fully parametric as the NESQ is. this alone makes a direct comparison impossible. Millennia makes great stuff and if you check EBlow you will see it really holds it's value. used pieces sell for near new street. hard to go wrong with Millennia stuff. if i were to criticize Millennia i would say their stuff is too clean and uncolored. when selected, the tube and transformer topology is very subtile. really not a hammer on the head kind of thing. still i find it very useable. sometimes a little goes a long way. in those situations Millennia products shine imo.

You know it but!
To share some love on this...
The NSEQ-4 is a different animal from all other Millennia products. Its what FF famously did with the refit for FF-NSEQ-2, where he removed the tube section and did some magic. Millennia listened and rebuilt the NSEQ 2. Thus, a high V NSEQ-4 made to even better specs to my understanding , and that's saying a lot
because the FF NSEQ-2 is already in the top world class.

This EQ doesn't get in the way of anything but you sure know when its out of the loop (when that sheen is flat). Much like SPL big V Passeq and NEOS, it has that addicting electric vibe openness that keeps making you smile.

The bottom end is crazy and the top end is like HD silk. I've never experienced sweeter top end from anything. Its ideal for encompassing a group of EQ's or absolutely choice for final mixes or masters with or without any other EQ. Its very powerful and designed the way you expect.
My current thrill, I put this on my master bus followed by those vintage Pultecs. So the NSEQ becomes the house for the MEQ-5's mids. Its like saying I'm here, but take this!
That combination gives me HD colour to die for. The combination is crazy. I also put this into the Dangerous Master M/S. Where the NSEQ-4 becomes my sides and the MEQ right in your face. I reach over to top like a crane and top the mix off with that Sheen.

To get even crazier, I have a digital patchbay that will on-the-fly (midi or a mouse), seamlessly switch any combination of hardware to fit the task (tracking, mixing or mastering). This is one serious EQ.
