Hi, I've been listening to my favorite rock pro mixes and I've realized that most of them have a pretty nice frequency separation between the electric guitars, the bass and the drums in general. I've had great results in my work but I've never really gotten that really nice separation between the guitars, the bass and the drums completely. I noticed that the guitar sound is very well placed in the mids and high mids, the bass well placed in the low mids and the bass drum is practically alone in the low end part, it sounds really clean yet full in every way. My question is, how do you make a rock song sound complete in every part of the frequency range without sacrificing low punch and fullness in the guitar sound? I think thats mostly my problem. By the way some of these mixes I was hearing are Green Day's American Idiot, Nirvana's In Utero, Nickelback, Flyleaf...
