Hi Bob, just read the post in Fletcher's and came over here :)

I'm interested in vinyl record restoration, removing hiss, pops, declicking etc.

I have been using "The DeClicker" from Steinberg for a few years and it's okay but it adds some distortion during the process.

I'm using a Mac :D

Thanks Bob, sounds like a cool bit of software.

The picture is me but the room is at The Warehouse Studio in Vancouver owned by Bryan Adams. 26 million dollar studio lol! 3 floors full, I think 6 PT rigs and a glass rack of mics. Totally awesome!

I wish I could call it my own. I had a caption on that picture but I recently removed it for our registration page. I think I better add it to my profile again hehe :(

Hello Bob. Do you have any tips on getting rid of hum? This seems to be something that NR2 is a bit weaker at, but perhaps there's something I need to know. Other than that, yes, I really like using this plug-in.

p.s. I think that Clean is only for PC as well, and it doesn't operate as a plug-in. Using Clean is what got me to try out the SF demo! :D

Thanks Bob. I had a noise-print which included the hum and the tape hiss (could have been a cobra, since it was a old tape of some African pop music), but several passes (removing about 12db every time) got rid of the hiss but was still leaving hum, and I could tell that it was starting to affect the sound quality too much. Well, it was not just a bit of hum--I think somebody risked their life to dub that tape!

Anyway, I tried the Waves Q10 to get rid of the hum first, which did a pretty good job, and I even found that a pass with the Q10 setting for noise reduction helped get rid of some of the hiss, making it easier for SF-NR to handle the rest. I just wasn't sure that I was doing the right thing! Thanks again.
