I would say if you're going with those Roland TD 20 digital drum set, screw the guitar and vocal booth. You just need a GOBo, with a window in it, placed in front of the vocalist. And that will cost you virtually nothing. I like open rooms and I don't like booths. Who wants anything recorded in a phone booth? I know I don't. So it's microphone selection more than anything else. Condenser microphones on the vocal may not cut it but a dynamic will. There is no loss of quality when cutting a vocal with a dynamic microphone of the right type. Dynamic microphones definitely have their place in smaller more cramped areas. Like, Greece.

Hello RemyRAD....thanks a lot...Roland TD 20 KX is in the studio already...the small room i ghad already made has a small reverb. What do you suggest in order to take it down...I like the small naturalreverb...i think i would like to keep it that way...What you think.. any kits from Auralex maybe to reduce it?

If you like the reverb like ambience of your room, the only thing you need to have is not absorption but diffusion. Diffusion doesn't come from the foam. It comes from highly erratic reflective surface areas. This prevents parallel surfaces from creating nasty, short delay slap echoes while allowing the ambience to bloom by multiple surface diffusion. These devices are frequently created with nice wood frames with an interesting geometry of hard surface stuff. So they hang nicely on a wall or better still, glued to the walls. And you don't need to cover all of the walls with them. They need to be put in strategic places opposite other parallel surfaces. Then you'll still have ambience without nasty flutter echoes. So there is more than just acoustical devices that can actually be utilized placed on your walls in a decorative manner to create diffusion such as small wooden sculptures, paintings of Elvis on black velvet, all sorts of religious symbols, your child's series of growing up shoes, coat racks, and bookshelves with lots of different sized books placed randomly on the shelf. Remember, the foam is best utilized for birth control purposes.
