I have a G5 running Logic, Neumann u87, BLUE and RODE mics. Does anybody have any suggestions on what I should put between the mics and the computer? I'm starting to do some voice over work, + duo and trios, so I figure I'll need at least one really nice channel, maybe two. If I get a small desk with great pre's then I'm thinking Sebatron to add some colour, but if the desk is average, then a 2 channel Grace may be a better choice. I don't need all the channels to be brilliant, I just need a coupleto be world class. Also, would Lucid or Swissonic be OK for converters into the computer?
I guess what I'm asking is, if you had a pretty good budget, what would you do about a small mixer, pre's and AD DA converters? I'm definitely after quality, not quantity. Thanks folks.

Focus Rite always sound good if you are going solid state. Since you are using a U87 may I suggest a tube pre. There are 7 different schematics to the U87 over the years, so This is avery subjective thing. If you want to stay clean use a presonus or Affex. If you want a true tube use the Tubetech or manley.
I suggest that you contact a couple of vendors or work with a high end store so that you can mix and match. I usually end up with a differnt pre-amp that compliments each different microphone.

To keep it small, simple with awsome full, round great sound I'd likely get the API 3124+MB. 4 great world class mic preamps combined with a 4x2 great sounding mixer with aux send/return in one rackspace. Or if your going with a bigger mixer, the API 7600 channel strip is awsome.
The Lucid converters while not the absolute best, offer a very good price performance ratio and would serve you very well.
The Focusrite Red-7 is the defacto standard for voiceover work. I sure love the one I have. The newer Focusrite ISA 220 and 430 have the same basic mic pre and compressor and offers additional eq, de-esser and routing flexability. The AMEK/NEVE Channel In a box is another really great channel strip in a single rackspace. The new Massenburg channel strip is also top notch.
For two rack spaces, the API 7600 and the AMEK/NEVE CIB would be a great flexable combo for voiceover work or anything else to go with any mixer setup.
