I've got a last generation PreSonus Firepod, just basically not the one they're currently selling today, and it's not turning on anymore. Not sure what the problem is considering I haven't used it much and don't mistreat it, but anyways.

I'm looking for another recording interface hardware with firewire connectivity. This had 8 inputs but I never use more than 2, so a more compact unit with just 2 input mic/instrument inputs would be more ideal. Any recommendations?

edit

Ideally I want something cheaper. I was interested in the Firebox from PreSonus, you know keeping it in the family kind of deal, but it seems like they're discontinued or something. I dunno what the deal with that is.

Any thoughts on Firebox vs. Firestudio Mobile? Although the studio is newer, it seems like some comments I'm reading are that it's better than the firebox.

I got a Firepod as what you have, mine still serve me well...haaaa..but recently looking for 1 for the Home Studio purpose!! I'm quite interesting to the Phonic Helix [[url=http://[/URL]="http://www.phonic.c…"]4-Mic/Line 2-Stereo Mixer with DFX & FireWire Interface[/]="http://www.phonic.c…"]4-Mic/Line 2-Stereo Mixer with DFX & FireWire Interface[/]
Seems, useful and more features instead of just an interface! ;)
It comes with Firewire too. Still search around about it's comment.
I'm a Mac and Logic user, Firepod serve me OK but price is High. I'm wondering that whether Phonic Helix c'ld let us Record all at once like Firepod provided? or it's just a multi inputs and record in Stereo track?
