Hi all

I want to start recording on my PC. I know I need a new sound card, but choices are very limited where I live. I can get my hands on a sound blaster 2zs platinum, but I don't want to waste money on something that my not suit my needs. So, basically the question is: can I use a audigy 2zs platinum card to record my electric guitar and some vocals? That's all. Nothing fancier than that (for the time being).

Thanks!

Of course you can do it on a Sound Blaster, but, are you completely limited to the Audigy? There is mail-order most everywhere..? Or, maybe a local computer store that could order you something..? Some music stores now get into such things... We are not talking big money here(I don't know what the SB costs), for getting a pretty darned nice card - 100 bucks, 150? Some cards, with "breakout boxes" even may allow you to put-off a mixer purchase for awhile...... Maybe there are options you haven't investigated..?

Biggest problem with an SB, is it's the first thing you'll replace and if you can "skip" the all-too-soon upgrade to higher quality, why not?

BTW: Where DO you live??? Maybe I'm wrong about options? I don't suppose there are many Guitar Center's in, say, Antarctica? And even mail-order may be tough in the wintertime...
