I'm a singer-songwriter who plays mostly acoustic rock/pop and I'm looking for a good budget keyboard to add a little color here and there. Just wondering if anyone who has experience with either one of these (or anything else in this price range) could give me some advice. I want something that has good strings and piano above all else.
Also, when I checked the specs of these, I noticed they both have 64 note polyphony, but the Juno has double the wave memory. What is wave memory exactly and does it affect the sound?

I would not recommend any of the new roland products. They seem to have taken a turn for the worst. Ever since the mid nineties keyboard synth innovation has taken a hike.
I was somewhat impressed with the V-synth keyboard years ago. However, when I checked out the newer Fantom G keyboards I was displeased with the new direction. Seems like a serious trip down the toilet!
I much prefer the older Roland XV grand. I personally own a XV-3080, I can vouch for the sound quality. It has a deep sound quality and is still a bitch to program as with all Roland products. The factory programing is top notch and there are well over a thousand presets that cover a huge amount of uses. Very diverse, well thought out and musically useful, unlike the Fantom G. The G stands for Garbage.
I did briefly check out the Juno recently. Seems interesting, however I have not taken much time to check it out in depth. If is does not have analog filters then what's the point.
Its really rare now to hear anything as cool as an old PPG 2.2 or something. The old fat analog sound still rules my list of must haves for keys.
