So I had my eyes on the Manley VoxBOX (mainly for its pre) as I had previous experience with it and it suited my voice quite well. But the other day I read about the SPL GoldMike, and its updated version, the MK2, and it caught my eye.

Its "FLAIR" feature, supposedly adds presence and clarity (without harshness). The sound I often try to achieve for vocals is that breathy/airy sound. So far it sounds like the SPL can take care of this in the recording process.

I've searched these forums, but didn't quite come up w/ much info. So, does anyone own one and have any pointers? How would it compare to the Manley mic preamps?

Thanks in advance. :)
