Hey pal..

I just heard of a recording seminar happening in Toronto on Nov 17... sponsored by SOS and PrismSound... I thought I'd let you know about it in case you didn't know, and if this might be something you'd want to attend. It's free. If I could afford the travel expenses, I'd go myself. ;)

The guest speaker is:

Toronto Guest Speaker: Nick Blagona

As one of Canada’s leading recording pioneers, Nick Blagona’s illustrious career spans 50 years. He was instrumental in launching English and French Canadian recordings to the world stage (KI'm Mitchell and April Wine, Robert Charlebois, Uzeb) and he designed/built North America’s first and most successful environmental Studio – Le Studio, Morin Heights.

Nick is at home in mobile recordings (Deep Purple, The Police World Tour, Green Day, FooFighters and Sloan). He excels in leading edge technological in-the-box and live-off-the-floor recordings. His creative engineering/mixing talent has enhanced Tea Party, Alexisonfire, Protest The Hero, Callaghan, Harrison Kennedy, and most recently, Tia McGraff.

Nick Blagona has also mastered over 1,100 projects over the past 20 years. He continues to share his genius with generations of talented Indie Artists in all genres.

Prism Sound is also very pleased to welcome Bob Snelgrove from GerrAudio and DPA Microphones, presenting on “Microphone Technique”. They will talk about and demonstrate how a single microphone’s characteristics can be mechanically manipulated to provide optimum pickup at the source and what a difference this makes in mixing. Joining GerrAudio/DPA will be Unity Audio presenting on the finer aspects of studio monitor use.
