i feel like a dweeb for asking, but all the many methods i've tried for this in the past have given me only limited success:

i'm tracking this weekend a rock band, and the singer / acoustic guitar player will be playing along with the band while we track drums (at least that's my focus.

the question is, how can i get the best vocal and acoustic guitar sound (discreet of course)? i know i can use a tight pattern on my vocal mic, and aI'm the back of the mic towards the guitar, and i can play around with some pseudo-baffles between lips and the guitar, but that's never given me stellar results.

any tips and tricks appreciated.
