Why does the Swing/Quantize on an MPC sound better than the swing in Cubase SX? Even at full swing in Cubase drums sound mechanically programmed. The MPC and other units like the SP1200 seem to have more of a rhythmic feel to the swing/quantizing. I would think this would function similarly across the board. Am I wrong?

The MPC series was designed by Roger Linn, so it shares the same swing algorithm with all his other drum machines. He describes how it works in a few interviews, you might find a description online. He also explains it in Mark Vails book on vintage synthesizers. The problem was I didn't find it to be so detailed that I could copy it in any other sequencer.
