I am having such a problem with my Windows media player only playing something once and then I have to reboot my computer it to play another song.
If I don't close it, I can keep it going to another song but if I close it, I have to reboot everytime.

This is driving me bonkers. Its been doing this a about a year and I'm fged up. Any help would be so appreciated.

I typed the phrase "media player only plays one song".... and found that link about the fourth choice down on the list.

I really don't use MP, although I never had the issue with it that you did. I'm using VLC for those rare occasions when I want to listen to MP3's.

This worked!

To troubleshoot this issue, please perform the following steps:

Add Local Service to Administrators group using commands

=================================

1. Click Start Button, type "cmd" in the search bar. The CMD icon will appear in the Start Menu.

2. Right click the CMD icon and click "Run as administrator".

3. In the popup window, type the following command line and press Enter.

NET LOCALGROUPadministrators"NT AuthorityLocal Service"/ADD

You should receive a message “The command completed successfully”.
