Built these after doing a lot of research on them, and finally am nearing completion! There will be six total, and I also built stands so that I can make a sort of 'booth' in my room for recording to cut out all of the horrible reflections. Will do some tests once I have them all completed and fitted into their stands, it should be a significant improvement over the space I have now.

Thanks Bob! It is black muslin. After paying $10 at a local shop for 2 yards of ugly white muslin (which I would still have to cut to fit right), I went to my good friend ebay and found a photography backdrop, 10' x 20' for $35 shipped. It leaves me more than enough room for error (I think I can mess up like 3 or 4 times and still have enough), it looks better, and since it is so big I don't even have to measure anything, I can just fit it and staple as I go.

Finished 3 more tonight, have one more to go for tomorrow... I could have made the fronts a little tighter on a couple of them, but it's not a big deal, you can't really see any wrinkles, it's only if you run your hand over it that it's not completely taut.

Anyways, this was my material list:

6 2'x4'x2" Owens Corning 703 - $97 shipped from ATS Acoustics
11 pieces of 1"x3"x8' pine board from Home Depot - 3.98 apiece, $~44
10'x20' Black Muslin photography backdrop from ebay - $35 shipped
4 pieces of 2"x3"x8' pine studs from home depot, ~$2 each (These are for the bases)

And this is assuming you also have:

Nailgun w/ finishing nails
Heavy Duty Stapler w/ Staples
Tablesaw

So tomorrow I should be able to finish the 3 remaining bases that I have to do as well as finish the final front wrapping. Will try to have some tests this weekend!

I finally finished all of these and did a little test tonight. Might have to turn up your volume to hear the difference. It's about what I expected, so I'm happy. No compression or anything on this file, so once I start mixing things together and do have them compressed, it should make a pretty radical difference in the mix!

Thanks JohnTodd, definitely need a throw rug in here. I actually am using one of the panels right now as more of a roof, it's difficult because there has to be an open space to my left so I can do work on the computer as well as fit the neck of the guitar in. Definitely going to get some stuff done tonight though! Can't wait to try these around my amp as well.
