I'm looking to record vocals (rap) and i have a list of gear that i think would give me a decent sound for starting

RODE NT1A CONDENSER MIC
ART MPA PRO II PREAMP
ART VLA PRO II COMPRESSOR
M-AUDIO FASTTRACK PRO USB INTERFACE
M-AUDIO DELTA 66 SOUNDCARD
M-AUDIO STUDIOPHILE AV30 MONITORS

I'm just unsure of the best way to hook it all up
mic---pre---comp---usb interface---daw---soundcard

or could i go from the comp right into the soundcard
also what this give me a good start for vocals
thanks in advance

Mic - Pre - m-audio should do it. Just get clean, unprocessed sound into the computer and do the tweeking later.

Only put the compresser in there if you have outrageous problems with dynamics and you are overloading the m-audio. But check your preamp gain before using the compressor. Might just be up too loud.

Does the m-audio have a mic pre built in? If so, just go:

mic - m-audio.

Other people will come in here and offer other suggestions. There may be more than one right way to do this!

Hope this helps;
