has anyone ever used or heard anything about AKAI 1730D SS? I bought this reel-to-reel unit at a yard sale for $5. It's in pretty good condition, so I'm wondering if there's any possiblity to sell it, I'll never use it.

i have an s950 that i love but it is my noisiest piece of equipment and the only one that doesn't have a 3 prong grounded power cord. how do i change the plug?

i have already spliced a 3 prong plug-theres white green and black wires. which one is the ground and where do i connect it on the s950? (does it just connect to a metal part on the chassis?).

My band is about to record a 10 song demo and we are faced with a big decision about which recording rig to use.

I have a rig consisting of 3 20 bit ADATs, a Tascam M-1516 mixer, several RNCs and other decent compressors, Drawmer noise gates, several Digitech TSR-24 and Lexicon reverbs, several Rane SP-15 parametric EQs, and some other good quality rack gear.

Hello to all. I'm curious to see if anyone owns an MPC and if so, do you use it (and how do you use it) as the main controller in a somewhat moderate midi setup? Currently I have my 4000 daisy chained for midisync'n sequences & samples. Thanks

Is there a way to have the computer reconize the internal HD on the MPC without it going through the freeze's and other abnormalities? I want to save and retrieve files from the computer to the MPC. I currently have an adaptec U160 scsi card & a fujitsu 33.6 scsi HD in my setup.

I've been a Roland R-8 drum machine user for some time (about 13 or 14 years). I recently purchased an MPC4000 and found it to be loaded w/ about 2 or 3 gigs of sounds. I was wondering, has anybody used this device ? If so, are there any tricks or pointers that would be helpful? It seems nobodys' into the midi stuff. Any logical reply would be appreciated.

I have a problem that I don't know how to solve.
I run the Emagic EXSP-sampleplayer in Cubase SX.
When I put in AKAI-CD's to convert to EXP-files the EXSP won't "see" any CD at all... it keep saying "waiting for CD".
So my question is, what can be wrong?

Is there a translator that would help me to load all tracks into oo1 without doing it via midi+loading one track at a time. I am using the Akai for remote live recordings and would love to edit in my PC pent111 1ghz digi 001. thanks for any suggestions.

I heard of an older product that Akai used to make called the DP88. It is a 10 i/o digital patchbaywith 8 AES and 2 SPDF. I am trying to find one so if anybody has any info on one, please let me know.
