Building a pro studio- Need a little bit of help...

I am building a new studio with some partners and they put me in charge of the DAW and overall recording set-up. I have decided that I want to run Cubase 4 (since I know it in and out) on a custom built PC. There are many more details, but I don't think I need to list out the whole thing for my question.

how to master you mixes

Hey guys, i'm just now starting to get into recording and stuff of that nature, I'm now taking the next step and getting serious and i know it is a stupid thing to ask, however, i know what mastering IS but i dont know how to do it!

i've recorded with my band twice at a local studio (Seconds to september) so i know what mastering does and what its used for.

Electrical wiring in my control room

So I've been working on constructing my basement home studio (I live in Canada) for a while now, adding layers of gypsum to the underside of the upstairs floor between the joists, backer rodding, caulking, etc. I am at the point where I have added as much mass as I'm prepared to add to the ceiling and sealed everything off to the best of my ability.

getting a new house built...any suggestions?

well my wife and i might buy a house that is in the beginning stages of being built. the contractor said that if we decide to go with it, we can customize the layout...etc. that being said, i was planing on using the basement as my studio. i was looking for some advice as far as what i can have done to make this room best suited for recording/playing music.
