good multi-channel A/D converters?
Folks-
I have been using the converters that come standard with my HD24 (I typically run 44.1k, using an external clock) for some time. No real complaints, but I am thinking of upgrading my converters.
I am looking for a single space unit (yes, this is a remote rig) that will do 16 or even 24 ch AD. Eight channels won't do it, as I typically run between 8 and 16 channels.

utility
Here's Paul White from SOS talking about how he did a mix recently:
"My approach to this mix combined my usual housekeeping chores and some core strategies, with other techniques adopted on the fly."
It would be really interesting for me to compare my experience in these three categories with other people's experience. Anybody interested?

Thoughts and Opinions on upgrading to new studio
hey all, my boss is a berkley graduate (audio production), has been recording professionally for over 20 years, full time. i recently built i studio for him in my hometown, with the idea of tapping in to a new market. so he's running 2 studios.
Peak at Output- a sum of frequencies? Or just the highest frequency?
Question- Does the volume of individual frequencies cause clipping at the master bus or does a song clip because of the summed volume across the frequency spectrum?
Recording at Home - need sound advise
Hi ...I am trying to find out a recording device to record my Setar/Not Sitar (Persian instrument that has medium sound ... that is not strong and it is acoustic) at home ... I used devices like iPhone but the recording is not pleasant and has a tinny sound to it... does anyone has any suggestion?

Home studio sound proofing in a basement
I was thinking of having my home studio in a basement, who here has done same thing and how much noise gets out? I just don't wanna record and have police called on me.

Problem with Behringer x2222usb output...
Hey, I've had this issue with my Behringer x2222usb mixer since I got it, but just figured I was doing something wrong and forgot about it. Basically, whenever I use the usb output to my computer, I get this background noise that sounds like a very distant, but very present leaf blower. I couldn't figure it out, so I've just used the rca output going to a 3.5mm jack ever since.

Please please help me with my electrical buzz problem!
Hello all,
Where do i put a 414 to record a kit for demo?
I'm thinking figure 8 between kick snr? its Pre production w/ a decent metal (more galloping, than 32's on kick) I'm gonna just go to their spot and catch them on a portastudio, nothing more than pre work, but i'm still interested in opinions as to getting the overall drums. Its just to kinda 'hear' the stuff for the band members, which put on a decent show.
