mogami, and monster
is mogami really better performance cable?
monster is gimmick marketing and isn't better in anything but the gold tips like the Gold Rush cable. right? especially with the "bass" cable where it just cuts your high and lows. thats what someone told me anyways.

Lightweight Cables
Hey all;
I'm travelling soon and will be taking some basic mics and a camcorder for a few events that may happen along the way. (Live acoustic music, interviews, spontaneous performances, etc.)

Keeping cords and cables organized
Hi,
Here's a silly question for the Felix Ungers out there.
I've always had a problem with clutter, and my cables, AC adapters, etc., are always getting tangled up into knots, so I'm beginning to reconsider the twist tie method. I'm wondering what others do to stay organized -- I'll put everything into separate ziplock bags if I have to.
Any thoughts?

Identifying cables without tags
Hmm, I have a whole bunch of good cables I've made up, and put sorta "cable flags" on them, so I could identify them between one another. I've since found that these really get in the way more than anything, and wish I had just put different colours of a bit of heatshrink tubing on each end before I soldered the ends on.

Running Shielded RCA cables
Just wondering what the rule of thumb is for a safe distance to run RCA cables between my equipment?
In the end I suppose all that matters is if you can hear any hum or ground loop stuff audibly, right?
I have to hook up cables (RCA) between my deck, my computers, and my mixer. Each run will be anywhere from about six feet to as much as about twelve feet.

balanced cable
I am reading a book saying for balanced cable the signal carrying conductors should be twisted. But from the hardware store that I am going to they say they only carry the untwisted one. .does it matter?
I need them for making some cables from 15 inchs to 50 inches to connect my equipments to the patchbay
