whats the best way to connect the control room with the capture room ? with audio cables ?

why i dont find anything for studios ?
i only find "snake cables" but is for stage.

It has been a while since I posted to this particular forum. I was here quite regularly last fall when I was beginning the purchase phase.

Most of my gear purchasing is complete. But I have yet to complete my cable phase.

My system is sort of a hibrid analog -digital - analog thing.

Has anyone ever used CBI cables (http://www.cbicables.com). A friend of mine who works in a music store swears by them and can get me a good deal on some. CBI uses Belden cable and Neutrik connectors. I've heard from people on this forum that Neutrik connectors are the best. What about Belden cable?

Sorry to be so full of questions, but it is all coming to me quickly. Is the optical cable that connects one ADAT to another ADAT the same as the 9 pin cable? Will it allow a transfer of a track (or 8) from one tape to another without the 9 pin? if not, what is the purpose and?or difference? Is there a "proper" way of rolling up and storing microphone or instrument cables? I've heard/seen a bunch of different ways. I've seen the way where you twist it around your thumb and pinky and create a loop that goes through that you can hang on a peg, etc. But I've heard that it's bad to keep the cable so tightly wound. What about the good old elbow technique?

Which brands do you use/recommend.

Is Apogee just another "re-badged" cable. Curious about these.

I'm getting a DAC-1 in soon... what would be best way to connect to a MOTU 828 (upgrading this too, as soon as it sells) for the back-end of my studio?
