For advanced reading about monitor controllers, Chris Muth had great influence to how I understand audio monitoring today. Before I experienced the differences of various controllers, monitoring was about a monitor section of a console, some cable and a few sets of speakers.

So I ve read a few threads about 2 daws and bouncing from one computer to another .
Ive got my macbook pro which I use all the time, and also have access to an iMac .
My only interface is persons 16.0.2 .live .

Today was the baby step into this new way (for me) of doing recording and mixing. I was fairly certain (thanks to help from others here, audiokid in particular) about how to get going. Today braving the install of the RME HDSPe card into the Mac was step one. Before all that I had to setup power and network etc.

I've not tried this yet, but though it would be of interest.

just curious if i would save some money by building my own? opening the second room in our studio soon, i was wondering if any one had experience building one of these? Ive built several pieces in our studio room one but i am by no means an electronics whiz wondering if there was a schematic that some one could share with perhaps some insights?

A Hybrid Monitoring Feature

There seems to be a lot of confusion over how you would incorporate a 3 way hybrid (recording, mixing and mastering (finishing) system with one converter

Hello everyone, I am trying to collect some thoughts on what you think about DAW Converters? Please list your top 3 Converters and if you haven't worked with that many then what are you using. Here are my top 3 in respective favorite order:

Is there any such thing as a mastering console that would be considered semi pro?

Something that would have level control and a few inserts. 3 pairs of outputs? Perhaps a 2 to 4 rack space size.

But with a smaller price tag then the custom built stuff?

I`d like to know how many engineers out there are mixing on Protools(no external desk, only PT mixing) - does anybody knows any records ( maybe even well known ones) mixed on PT?

what are the pros and cons of PT mixing?
