Telefunken TAB T-30 channel strip + compressor
I've just found a Telefunken TAB T-30 channel strip + compressor strip (lifted out of a console) but can't find any info out about it. I bought it on ebay because it looked cheap ($200) and I'm a sucker for impulse buys. I can buy a duplicate for the same price If i agree to do so now (i.e. before the first one arrives ) but I'd like to know a bit more about it. Can anyone help ?
Neve 2264X compressors? Any info?
Anybody have any information on the 2264X compressors? I own 2264's and 32264a's, and I saw some for sale, and was wondering has anyone ever used them. How do they compare to the other two. THANKS.

UA or Purple 1176?
I want to add a couple to the collection...
Disregarding the fact that UA jacked you around...
What would you buy and why?
Thanks from and ex-Bostonian.

Balancing a RNC
Everyone loves the RNC. But everyone dreads using it in its stock unbalanced state when running long cable runs. So that will be my next DIY project: balancing my RNC.

RNC a "pro" compressor?
Would you all consider the RNC a "pro" compressor?

Do I even need outboard compressors?
now, let me explain. i have a small little get-up that my friends and i make our music with- all tracking goes through my mics through either an ART prochannel or a p.o.s. Alesis studio 32 into a MOTU 1296 (which sounds infinitely better than my original 2408, i have found). We usually track only one or two tracks at a time, save drums (2-8) .

Compressor/Fletcher...does that rhyme?
It's awesome that you're on RO!
...and I LOVE Mercenary!
...but anyway TRACKING and Mixing drums. What's a nice collection of comps ($200-$4000 range) for, let's say, in yer face-poundin-smack ya in the chest-punch ya in the stomach kinda rock'n'roll?

FMR compressor?
Hey Fletcher,
It's a pleasure to have you here.
I'm starting up a PC-based DAW in my home in Natick, and am eyeballing that little FMR Really Nice Compressor, both for it's price, and for the good rap it's getting. I know you guys sell'em over at Merc., so I was wondering what your take is on them. Is there any better deal in it's class/price range?
Thanks,

Vintage Compressor for vocals
One of my favorite classic compressors is the GATES Sta-Level, and the GATES Level-Devil. These compressors are sha-wheat on lead vocals. The Level-Devil does a Exp/Comp thing that's hard to imitate with any other gear.

Compressors: Distressor or the Finalizer 96k ?
audiokid, Angelo,
been heavily thinking, so I put the Distressor on my future list .
In fact what i need now is a mastering tool, definitely before the end of the year .
