Audio export in cubase

Hi, when I export audio mixdown in cubase, the resulting file has no sound when played. I have set stereo output, set position markers, if I use realtime I can hear it playing during export, and the resulting file has about 3Mb as expected so it must have data in it, but no sound when I play trying various players. I must be missing something basic but can't figure out what. Any ideas?

Cubase worth the upgrade?

Steinberg are doing off 50% for Cubase 10. I'm currently using 8.5 Artist and I love it but I'm unsure what benefits I will get from upgrading to Cubase 10 Artist? Better latency? Better layout? I'll be honest, I don't think I could justify Cubase 10 Pro because I've managed with Artist for so long without no restrictions. But what could I expect moving from 8.5 Artist to 10 Artist?

Cubase saving issue

Greetings everyone. Recently I have been very happy with my recording and diving more into how inserts and FX Sends work well with Cubase. Many years ago I recorded 3 albums worth of songs but had a issue with the saving them so they are now lost. Now I'm older and wiser with better equipment I have decided to make sure I save the project.

Apple Mojave - and Cubase doing a strange thing?

I upgraded to Mojave on my MacBook, and the first time I used Cubase it came up with some questions. Cubase wants to access your microphone? Yes/No, which makes sense, it asked my about another process I OK'd then it said "Cubase wants to access your contacts" - which I thought about and said no to. Anyone know why on earth Cubase would even want to access my contacts for?
