Demeter STDB-1 or ADL 300g Direct Box?

Any preferences on stereo Direct Boxes for keyboards, bass, guitar. (under $1000) THANKS for any help on this.

Hey, just looking for some suggestions for a cheap DI box to buy. Basically I'm looking for something that has an XLR in and out and a quarter inch in and out. Besides that I just want one that is cheap yet does the job.

Coming from an acoustic music background (classical, jazz, world music), I am not used to all these guitar amps and cabinets. So please be nice and try not to laugh too loud at the following question:

I have very recently bought a Lynx Lynxone soundcard, I got a good price on it which was too good to pass up. However my scant knowledge of the DAW means that now I'm without a breakout box I'm unsure as to the best means of inputting audio and midi to the card. I play guitar and bass and will want to mike up acoustic instruments.

i'm thinking about economical ways to alter/upgrade/expand the pallete of my gear set-up.
i have a Manley mic preamp and was thinking of several options.

the one that i'm unsure of is this:

I want to record bass thru DI and mic the cab as well at same time. What DI/Audio box would accept both signals... I dont care about eating up 2 seperate tracks...

Any recommendations...

What's a good and reasonably priced (new or used) 4-ch. instument direct-box? I would be hooking it up to a transformer-balanced mic preamps on a console on a regular basis.

I've recorded with several bands, using many methods. The band I am with now is hardcore/melodic trash style music and i use a Custom F Bass 5 stringer. My rig is an Ampeg SVT PRO 4 which has been nothing but amazing on every recording. Ampeg 810E Behringercompressor just with clight compression as to not eat the basses tone.

The subject sums it up - the XLR output is about 20% the volume of the unbalanced output. Surely a faulty unit? As a newbie, I may be missing something. I mailed Tech21, still awaiting a response.

If it is faulty the trouble is, I bought it from America, and have a demo deadline to meet. So I am not particularly keen on sending it back for replacement.
