I am curious if anyone has done this with success. I have read the manual that comes with it and it states that you can plug the speaker tap from a tube amp directly into the amp input and put the switch to "speaker" mode and it will safely record amps up to 1700w and it doesn't matter what ohm tap you use from the output transformer's secondary.

Hey. Im new in that forum. Im also total new to home recording. But recently i finally bought guitar I'm very happy with and i would like to start recording.
For now except my guitar i own Line6 SpiderIV guitar amp, Steinberg CI1 USB interface and a PC laptop. I also have Mixcraft5 software.

I don't expect a big discussion here, but for the record, I was blown away by how much of a difference the quality of a DI box makes to the clarity of the audio signal. We have ProCo CB-1 DI boxes at our church and last night I took my Radial ProAV2 DI to a practice for comparison with an acoustic guitar.

A direct injection box usually matches the impedance between an instrument and a recording device or soundboard. If someone plugs an instrument directly into a soundboard or recording device the signal may sound bad. Using a Soundcraft Compact mixing board with a direct injection (DI) feature, I put this theory to the test.
