I'm saturating the input of my UTC transformer direct box

Hi, Being the electronics novice that I am, I actually put together a really great sounding direct box for my recording basses (passive and active) using a UTC transformer 30hz-20k response, +8db, 50k secondary, 150/250/600 primary. I prefer the UTC's 150ohm output into my LA610 mic input.

Need Help Hooking My 60's Fender amp Directly To My Mac

Recently i got a mac and one of the reasons i did so is for garage band. but anyways i recorded one song, did all the parts. it came out great. But now I'm working on a new song. what I'm trying to do is plug my 1960's fender amp into my mac so i can get the same distorted sound that the amp produces. the amp has a plugin the back for EXT.

recording guitar amps direct

my friend and I got in an argument about whether recording guitars direct is a good idea. He thinks that its better to use a mic and crank the volume on his cab than using a direct box with his amp (he thinks a lot of distortion comes from overdriving the speakers of the cab). I keep telling him that it doesn't matter, but I need some backup :)
