M-Audio Profire 2626 v Behringer UMC1820 - Different output frequency profiles?
I had been using a profire 2626 for the past 12 years or so. I switched to the Behringer UMC1820 because it plays a little nicer with Linux.
The Behringer seems to have more low-mids in the output than the Profire 2626 did. It's a little off-putting to my ears. I was very accustomed to the old sound. I'm hesitant to call the Behringer muddy in comparison, but it might be.
High frequency resonnance on vocal recording
Hi guys,
I recorded vocals lately, and cannot get rid of aggressive high frequencies that weren't there before...
You can hear the main nasty frequency around 3-4Khz and some other ones from1 to 3 kHZ ( audio: Creep_VXREC_WA87ChorusAnnecy 1&2 )
I recorded the same vocals 1 month ago in another flat, and it was fine ( see audio "Creep_VXREC_WA87ChorusDundee").

Can a JBL 4206 crossover frequency of 2.6 kHz be changed to a Crossover Frequency of 2.8 kHz
Hi, I'm interested in buying some JBL speakers but the seller has said that the crossovers have been changed from the original JLB 4206 ones to JBL 4208 crossovers. He said that the speakers sound fine.
High Frequency Limiter/Multi-band Compressor
Anyone have any recommendations to tame highs in Mastering. I'm looking at a Drawmer 1973 right now because of my budget. Trying to stay out of the digital realm right now and do most if not all my processing in the analog realm. I'm also considering saving up for a Weiss Unit or a Maslec MBC. Any suggestions for outboard gear?
